Perimeter Heating
HCP's Perimeter Heating
range offers a choice of either Low Pressure Hot Water (LPHW) or
electric heating elements. As the name implies, Perimeter Heating
is usually located around the perimeter of a building and on the
external walls, where the heat loss is greatest.
Perimeter Heating casings can be independently supported at low,
medium or high levels to give continuous heating along walls or
walkways and is ideally suited for combating cold down draughts
and condensation, characteristics often associated with full and
half height glazing.

Drawings
Detailed below is a traditional wall-mounted heating system, but
HCP can design and manufacture systems to match space restrictions
or output requirements.
- Heating Elements are made from copper tube with aluminium fins.
They take standard capilliary fittings
- Wall Mounting Brackets
- Heating Element Hangers
- Front Panel
- Centre Mullion is shown, left-hand, right hand and closed end
options available
- External Corner Cover Panel (internal also available)
- Outlet Grilles are continuous aluminium extrusions. Standard
finish of silver anodised AA5 (Punched slotted outlet also available).

Specifications
HCP’s elements are manufactured from copper tubing, which
are available in diameters of 15, 22 or 28mm; enhancing the heating
output is a profiled grille of extruded aluminium.
Our standard systems are available in five sizes, but by increasing
or decreasing the diameter of the copper tubing and aluminium grille,
the length of the element and/or the number of elements a wide range
of heating outputs can be achieved.
For the purposes of illustration, we have shown three different
Perimeter Heating systems (Sloping Top Grille, Top Grille &
Front Grille) below. Their heights and widths can be altered –see
performance details below.

Performance
The performance data below can be applied to the TG (Top Grille
outlet), STG (Sloping Top Grille outlet) and FG (Front Grill outlet)
units.
HCP offer four widths of casing: A, F, N and W; 40, 60, 90 and
120mm in width respectively. Performance based on the unit height
and number of elements (SR & DR) is detailed below.

Notes: A* = STG and FG not available in size
A element
Table of outputs is for TG and HG:
For STG unit : Use unit height minus 50mm
For FG unit: Use panel height in place of unit height
For low level integral cable duct units, reduce by height of cable
duct. |
|
Design
Design and adaptability are fundamental to the HCP philosoply,
so whatever your space restriction or output requirement, we can
design a system to suit your needs. There are a wide range of standard
polyester powder-coat colours available to meet demanding aesthetic
requirements. |
|
Options
HCP’s perimeter casing can be modified to suit your requirements,
which can include split mullions for partition points. Acoustic
baffles can be integrated within out units to counter the transfer
of noise between rooms.
Cabling is often integrated within our units and you can choose
between a high or low-level cable duct; Separate and multi-cable
ducts are also available.
