Finned Tube Elements are manufactured from copper tubing, which is available in diameters of 15, 22 or 28mm. Heating output is enhanced using aluminium alloy fins to BS1470. The maximum finned element length is 3000mm, however 75mm of plain tube must be left at each end. Where required fins can be located at ay position along the tube.

The returned edges of the fins and the bonding by expansion to the copper tubing make highly efficient and mechanically strong elements. Elements come shrink wrapped, providing protection during transit and from on-site duct etc. Note shrink-wrapping must be removed prior to installation.

Element support hangers

Single and double element support headers, which allow element expansion and contraction,
are also available.

Angled shelf brackets for wall fixing are provided together with M4 x 40 countersunk head screw and nut. Element hangers are made from 1.2mm mild steel and shelf brackets are from 2mm steel.

It is important to note finned-tube elements should be supported at centres of not more than 1500mm.
